Fly Fish MN! We love chasing all fish, in all waters with a fly rod!

We fish a number of rivers depending on the conditions. Our home river is the Ottertail River in SW Ottertail County we fish primarily for smallmouth bass but it is also home to numerous other fish species as well. We also have numerous lakes in our area that provide fly fishing opportunities for many different species of fish.

We are running a Lund 1800 Alaskan, Clackacraft Eddy drift boat and a Big Shoals raft from Smith Fly all these craft provide a comfortable safe fishing platform for our clients. We can customize a trip for you fishing multiple rivers/lakes to optimize your fly fishing adventure!

Enjoy a day on the Ottertail river fly fishing for smallmouth bass, and numerous other freshwater fish species. You’ll be fishing out of a Clackacraft drift boat during your trip with wade fishing available to enjoy as well. The Ottertail River has a catch and release regulation for all smallmouth bass downstream to the Wilken county line and this has created an exceptional smallmouth fishery in southwest Ottertail County. 

The Mississippi River is the largest river in North America. The Upper Mississippi River is one of the premier smallmouth bass fisheries in the upper Midwest. The Mississippi is a classic smallmouth river that was made for fly fishing. You’ll be fishing out of a Clackacraft drift boat during your float so come and join us for a day of fishing and enjoy the beauty and fishing of the upper Mississippi River! 

Fly fishing for northern, bass, or panfish for a ½ of day or full day – whatever fits your schedule on one of our beautiful area lakes or rivers. Enjoy fly fishing as we walk and wade or fish from the boat depending on conditions or guests’ preferences. We have hundreds of lakes within a 50-mile radius of our area with almost every freshwater fish available including large and smallmouth bass, northern, crappie, sunfish, and muskie. 

Front 20 Outfitters will provide equipment and instruction for anyone interested in experiencing fly-fishing. Trips include basic instruction in casting, rigging, and presentation.

We offer half and Full Day Trips, which can be fit into your schedule, although we hope to be out during the best fishing times. 

Front 20 Outfitters, LLC brings you to some of the most scenic stream trout lakes in West Central Minnesota for an enjoyable and educational day on the water.  Clearwater and Becker Counties provide a variety of trout fishing lakes for you to enjoy.

These lakes are deep, clear, and cold and have been stocked with rainbow trout for a number of years and we fish for them with a number of different techniques depending on the season and conditions including; still fishing with bait, trolling with shallow running artificial baits, and trolling deeper with downriggers.

The after-work Fly fishing trip starts at 6:00 PM and we will fish until dark. This offer is good Monday through Thursday and is a great way to have some fun after work. Take a mid-week break and join us for some fly fishing! All equipment provided.

A $200.00 deposit is needed to reserve your dates. Complete deposit refundable if canceled more than 30 days before reserved dates, less than 30 days’ notice deposit can be used towards a rescheduled trip in the next 12 months.
